2013 - 14 Season Begins at Home vs Oak Hills Christian

Coming off a sub-par year in the won/loss column (7-20), the 2013-14 St. Cloud Technical and Community College men’s basketball team is excited about the prospects for a great season.  Last year’s team finished the year with 8 players, and 7 of those being freshman of the first recruiting class for 3rd year head coach Andy Cone.  Five of the freshman are returning, and are looking to build off the competitive finish to the 2012-13 season.  The group includes MCAC all-Southern Division guards Jared Noonan (Richfield, MN) and Riley West (Lakeville, MN).  Noonan led the Cyclones in scoring at 17.6ppg and was second on the team in rebounding at 5.8rpg.  West returns as one of the top point guards in the league at 16.1ppg and 4.8apg.  Also returning for their second season are Zach Jiskra (Sartell, MN), Nate Vang (Eyota, MN), and Leland Harris (Brooklyn Park, MN).
The Cyclones are adding a talented group of first year players, including multiple central Minnesota high school standouts.  Scott Nystrom, a St. Cloud Technical high school graduate, will return to the floor after sitting out the past three seasons.  The 6-1 guard looks to make an immediate impact on the floor.  Also returning to the floor after sitting out a season, is 6-5 forward Felipe Villalaz (Sauk Rapids-Rice HS).  Incoming freshman include:
Ashton Bailey – 6’3 – Chicago, IL
Troy May – 6’1 – Robinsdale, MN
Ted Lutterman – 6’3 – Cambridge, MN
Preston Bosacker – 5’11 – Cambridge, MN
Ben Keike – 6’3 – Sauk Rapids, MN
Michael Miller – 6’1 – Minneapolis, MN
Michael Wiese – 6’4 – Albertville, MN
Beau Maciej – 6’3 – Holdingford, MN
Lucas Rynda – 6’5 – New Prague, MN
Maurice Scott – 6’3 – Waterford, MI
Chris Laymon – 6’5 – Bloomington, MN
