Cyclones Open Season With Win At Home

The SCTCC men's basketball team opened the 2013-14 season on Wednesday evening with a convincing victory on their home court.  The Cyclones faced off against former NIAC conference opponent the Oak Hills Christian College Wolfpack.  This was the first game for both teams on the season, and it times it was evident both teams were working out the kinks early in the season.  In the end, the home team came out on top with a 107-42 win.
Statistically the Cyclones over matched the Wolfpack in many areas.  SCTCC was lead in the scoring column by freshman guard Scott Nystrom (St. Cloud, MN) with 25 points on 9/11 shooting, including 5/6 from long range.  Also providing a scoring punch were freshman Michael Miller (Minneapolis, MN) with 16 points, sophomore Zach Jiskra (Sartell, MN) with 13 points and 7 rebounds, and freshman Felipe Villalaz (Sauk Rapids, MN) with 13 points and 11 rebounds.  In all, eleven Cyclones scored, with 6 scoring in double figures.
The Wolfpack were lead by Walter Fane, with 16 points and Bryar Klopp with 10.
